Ministry Teams

We are in the process of transitioning from committees to the following teams.  This transition will be complete the first of September.   If you are interested in serving on a specific team, please email Bro. Clint at broclint@sat-co.net and let him know of your preference.

 Evangelism Team

Purpose: Provide guidance and direction in the overall training and practice of personal evangelism in our community and world, and to assist the church in achieving ministry goals.

Duties:

1. Assist in developing and maintaining a church-wide visitation plan.

2. Participate in planning, organizing, and implementing community outreach ministries.

3. Assist in the development and evaluation of spiritual and numerical growth through the Sunday School.

4. Name a Vacation Bible School Director and assist the director in organizing VBS.

5. Assist in planning and developing short-term Home and International mission projects.

6. Develop and implement follow-up programs for new converts and church members.

7. Promote and coordinate State, North American, and International missions studies.

8. Set goals for special missions emphasis offerings.

 Discipleship Team
 
Purpose: Help develop men and women with the process of being sincere and faithful disciples of Jesus Christ, and to assist the church in achieving ministry goals.
 
Duties:
 

1. Communicate with the church body that discipleship is not an option for the believer (Eph 4:11-16).

2. Provide Discipleship Training classes that offer wisdom derived from the authoritative Word of God (2 Tim. 3:15-17).

3. Establish and promote Bible study groups where people can grow in their understanding of God’s Word and obedience to His commands.

4. Participate in developing studies that address specific life concerns, such as: spiritual issues, church functions, doctrinal issues, and the promotion of outreach and evangelism.

5. Promote and encourage people to develop spiritual growth habits.

6. Develop and coordinate a Men’s Ministry (sub team).

7. Develop and coordinate a Women’s Ministry (sub team).

Fellowship Team

Purpose: Provide Christian fellowship opportunities for our church family, including our community, and to assist the church in achieving ministry goals.

Duties: 

1. Provide or coordinate food services for special events: i.e., holidays, picnics, revivals, etc.

2. Assure kitchen facility is adequately prepared.

3. Request routine and special maintenance on the facility or its equipment from the appropriate Team(s).

4. Coordinate the bereavement ministry.

5. Coordinate the use of the church facilities for weddings or other special events.

 Ministry Team

Purpose: Help meet the spiritual and physical needs of the church body, minister to the needs of the community through targeted activities, and assist the church in achieving ministry objectives.

Duties:

1. Establish and maintain a church-wide prayer ministry/strategy.

2. Develop and coordinate the Bus Ministry (sub team).

3. Work with the Evangelism Team to develop and coordinate ministries that meet the needs of the community with the goal of reaching them for Christ.

4. Coordinate the Youth Ministry (sub team).

5. Coordinate the Children’s Ministry (sub team).

6. Support and work with other groups doing ministry.

Financial Resources Team

Purpose: Provide budget development and submission, stewardship emphasis, Team support, and to assist the church in achieving ministry goals.

Duties:

1. Assure monthly bills are paid in a timely manner (treasurer).

2. Prepare a monthly financial summary for publication to the church body (treasurer).

3. Prepare an annual budget for submission to the church prior to the end of the fiscal year (December 31 of each year).

4. Assist in the evaluation of fund-raising activities.

5. Evaluate the budget finances throughout the year and advise of any cost exceeding budgeted expenditures.

6. Promote stewardship with an emphasis on tithing.

7. Assure that all money is counted and deposited (sub team).

8. Assure that the church property is properly insured.

9. Properly record and disburse memorial funds.

Facilities Team

Purpose: Lead the effort to help assure safe, clean, and functional facilities (buildings, grounds, and equipment), and to assist the church in achieving ministry goals.

Duties:

1. Implement a routine preventive maintenance schedule for all facilities, grounds, and equipment requiring preventive maintenance.

2. Implement procedures to efficiently handle items in need of repair.

3. Implement procedures to efficiently handle suggestions regarding facilities, grounds, or equipment.

4. Implement routine and special cleaning procedures as required.

5. Implement procedures pertaining to safety and the handling of emergencies.

6. Assist in the development of the budget as it pertains to facilities, grounds, and equipment.

7. Lead long-term planning efforts pertaining to facilities, grounds, and equipment.

8. Assure that church vans are properly maintained (sub team).

Deacon Team

Purpose: Fulfill the Biblical role of a deacon, as a servant of God, and to assist the church in achieving ministry goals.

Duties:

1. Actively participate in the Deacon Family Ministry, with the main objective to build a strong personal relationship with the assigned families.

2. Coordinate the Benevolence Ministry.

3. Serve as a "sounding board" for ideas relating to the church.

4. Actively support the work of all teams.

5. Work with the pastor to plan revival services.

6. Nominate Deacon candidates as deemed necessary.
